Revolutionary socialist, aging punk rocker and Pink Fairies fan Sean Bonney has written The Commons (2011), Document: Poems, Diagrams, Manifestos (2009), Baudelaire in English (2008) and Blade Pitch Control Unit (2005). His work has been translated into several languages, and he has performed it all over the place. Esther Leslie has described him as someone who “rages and shouts as he delivers his lines. He performs his poems in the upstairs rooms of London pubs or on the streets at demonstrations”. Bonney is in complete agreement with the surrealist poet Benjamin Peret that “the poet of today has no other choice than to be a revolutionist or not be a poet”.
